Beginner Tips

Dying Light: The Beast is officially online. You are Kyle Crane, who has undergone years of experimentation and been transformed into a half-human, half-beast monster. In a unique gaming experience that combines an open world with action-survival horror, hunt down the culprit who turned you into this. This guide provides comprehensive walkthroughs for all main and side quests, hoping to help you.

Purchase Explorer Gear

When you arrive at City Hall, visit the merchant Doug and purchase several pieces of the Explorer set. Start with the sunglasses, gloves, and bracers, as you'll soon acquire the vest and pants. This gear boosts the experience you gain, helping you level up faster to face upcoming challenges. Each piece provides a modest +2% bonus, but it adds up.

Craft a Hunting Bow

The Hunting Bow is the first ranged weapon you can acquire in Dying Light: The Beast. Its blueprint is available at the first workbench you find, and the required materials are relatively easy to obtain. You might not be ready to craft it until you reach City Hall, where Doug can sell you any needed materials. At the same time, you'll learn how to craft arrows for your bow. Again, Doug sells the materials you need, though only in small quantities at a time. This makes it your only ranged weapon you can acquire and craft ammo for early in the game, making it a staple in Kyle Crane's arsenal.

Pick Up Heavy Vest and Pants

Both the Heavy Vest and Pants provide 5 armor points each, making them some of the best gear you can find early in the game. Once you can freely move around Old Town, immediately go pick them up to significantly boost yourself. The Heavy Vest is located in the Station Plaza Apartments dark zone near the train station in the Old Town area. The Heavy Pants can be found in the Library Plaza Apartments dark zone at the top of the Old Town area.

Upgrade Your Bandage Blueprint

You should have picked up some manual pages from the two dark zones while searching for the Heavy Vest and Pants. Use them to upgrade your bandage blueprint to increase its healing amount and usage speed. Here are other blueprints you may want to consider upgrading early: - Grenades - Throwing Knives - UV Flashlight
